Discipleship
Our commission:
Older women investing in younger
women – to train and equip women in holiness of heart and
life after the pattern of Titus 2:3-5
Our means:
Titus Women’s Ministry began as Al and Beth
Coppedge
waited upon Jesus for direction for their lives when they
were first married. Beth says, “We felt God calling us to
teach the Word and to disciple men and women in the gospel
of Jesus Christ. Al felt led to the mandate in 2 Timothy 2:2
and since that time he has faithfully been teaching and
discipling students as a seminary professor. My heart felt
drawn to Titus 2:3-5. I began to teach the Word and mentor
women from our home, from my kitchen table, so to speak, as
a wife, mom and now a grandmother.”
As a ministry today we feel this is still our mandate for
reaching women with the beauty of the gospel of the Holy
Heart, which is a person that loves Jesus with all of her
heart, mind and strength (Deuteronomy 6:6). This of course
is the call that Titus 2:3-5
gives for
the older women in the faith to train the younger ones in a
love relationship with God that affects all areas of life as
you can see from these verses. This is an incredible life
calling to “Titus” (disciple) not only our physical
children, but our spiritual as well. This call, plus Jesus’
Great Commission to disciple people of all nations (talk
about a God-sized vision) from Matthew 28:18-20, has led us
to think in terms of life-to-life investment in others,
which is discipleship.
We invite you to become a “Titus Woman” and
ask Jesus to help you invest your life and love for Him into
others. If you ask Him He will begin to lay certain people
on your heart for you to pray over and to carry so that the
life of Jesus might become a living reality in them. It is a
marvelous way to live – investing in eternity!
